The IAMAS 2005 Scientific Assembly will be held in Beijing,
China at the Beijing International Convention Center (BICC)
from Tuesday, August 2 through Thursday, August 11, 2005.

Visa
Application:
Visas are required to enter to China. An official invitation
letter for this application will be sent to those who have
returned the final Registration Form.

Arrival:
Taxi fare from the airport to hotels is about RMB 100 yuan
(approx. US$12). We suggest you ask for a receipt with the
taxi registration number in case you require special assistance
when you arrive at the hotel.
Guiding notes bring you to hotel will be post later.

Weather:
Beijing has a continental climate with clearly defined seasons.
The weather in Beijing during the conference will be a little
hot. The average temperature is about 26¡æ(79¡ãF). The mean
maximum is 31¡æ(88¡ãF) and minimum 22¡æ(72¡ãF).

Currency Exchange:
1.
Only RMB can be used when you are in China. Visa, Master,
American Express, Diners Club and JCB are accepted in most
malls and hotels. ATM could help you change RMB from your
credit card.
2. Exchange rate is now about RMB 8.26-8.27 Yuan for one US
dollar. Please keep your receipt in the case you want to change
the remaining RMB back to foreign currency.
3. The Bank of China and most hotels can cash traveler cheques
issued by any foreign bank or financial institution. Participants
will need to show their passports and pay 0.75% commission
fee. Travelers cheques signed over to a third party cannot
be cashed, but can be presented for collection through the
Bank of China.
